First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Crisis Response Network.
Operations
It was more of a casual chat and open discussion. The role wasn't super clear, and it felt like they were looking for a particular kind of person rather than just filling a specific job. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Can you share your past experience managing crises?
- Describe your previous experience in project management.
Crisis Specialist
So, I was hired about five years back for this role. The questions they asked were pretty standard for a Crisis Specialist position. They were fair and made sure I had the right skills, understanding, ability, and insight for the job. I interviewed with one person. Looking back, I probably should have negotiated my salary better, but I felt the pay was pretty fair. After the interview, I got a tour and met some of the team.
- What would be your approach if someone expressed thoughts of suicide, and are you comfortable performing a risk assessment?
- Could you describe your previous experience within the Arizona behavioral health system?
Crisis Specialist
It was thorough and interesting. I met with a crisis supervisor, who talked a bit about CRN and then started the interview. Afterwards, she answered my questions and showed me around the call center. The questions were a bit tough, but if you're comfortable and understand mental health and the crisis field, it should go fine. This company really values personality and how you'll fit in and improve the culture, maybe even more than skills, which for the most part can be learned on the job.
- How would you handle a suicidal caller on the phone?
Crisis Specialist
The hiring process includes one comprehensive interview where you'll face both verbal and written questions. This interview focuses mainly on your experience in mental healthcare and situational questions related to behavioral health crises. They select candidates quickly and the typical start date is ASAP.
- How would you manage a call from someone experiencing active psychotic symptoms?
