First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Crisis Connections.
Crisis Intervention Specialist
It was a pretty typical interview process. They asked about my experience in a clinical environment, specifically working with individuals in crisis situations. They also touched on diversity and inclusion, and my personal self-care strategies. Be prepared to ask them questions too, because they'll make sure to answer any you have about the role!
- Can you tell me about your experience in a clinical setting, particularly with individuals experiencing crises?
- What's your background working with people in crisis?
- How do you approach diversity and inclusion?
Mental Health Clinician
I went through 2 in-person interviews, they were pretty standard in length and difficulty. You should be ready to talk about how you handle high-pressure or multitasking environments and how you plan to live out the company's values.
- What are your self-care practices?
- Describe your experience performing in high-pressure or multitasking situations.
- How do you see yourself embodying the company's values?
Volunteer
I practiced talking to someone on the phone who was in crisis. I learned to not give advice, but instead ask open-ended questions to help the person find their own solutions.
- Just be a good listener and empathetic and you will be offered to be a volunteer.
