Analyst
Met them at a career fair and was told to keep in touch. At the next career fair, they really wanted to hire me and said an interview was just to meet the team. After 3 phone calls, they made me travel an hour round trip and spend ~$80 on travel (no reimbursement) for an on-site interview, refusing remote options. The on-site was 3 hours: 1:1 with an HR VP, then a group interview about the company and personality, then another 1:1 with the HR VP. Salary and benefits were discussed. After waiting 2 weeks post-interview and needing to reach out via phone and email, they finally said they weren't interested. Their offer had only 5 days vacation and no sick/personal days, plus no remote work at a tech company.
- How would you approach solving this problem?
Quality Assurance
The whole process started with a recruiter. On the day of the interview, I was welcomed nicely and treated well. Everyone seemed friendly and relaxed. First, I met with the head of HR, then with 3 people working in roles related to the job I applied for. This was the main part of the interview. They explained how the company operates, answered my questions, and then we discussed my resume and they asked me some questions. Most questions were typical interview questions, not very specific to the job or technical aspects. After that, I had a quick meeting with the head of HR again and left. The whole thing took about an hour. One thing that bothered me was that I told my recruiter I only want a permanent position, not contract-to-hire. During the interview, HR mentioned the position is contract-to-hire for 6 months. This might not be a problem for most, but better communication about this would have been good.
- Can you describe a mistake you've made in a previous job?
Project Manager
Recruiter handled initial contact. Hiring can be quick, maybe one interview, or it could take several. Creehan's culture is defined by a flexible approach to time, reaching up to the CEO. The work culture seems tough; interviewing PMs appear really stressed and mention lacking basic collaboration tools like IM, polycoms, and MS exchange. The building is small for its tech park location despite rapid growth, making office space tight (parking is consistently full). Because of all this, people are friendly but also seem both laid-back and stressed out.
- What are your thoughts on working extended hours?
Developer
So the interview process has two main parts. First, you'll talk to the VP of HR. Then, you'll interview with the development managers. The dev managers want to hear about your past coding work and if you know some of the tools we use here at Creehan. You definitely need to know C# and SQL, and be cool with using the .NET framework.
- Can you explain the difference between an interface and an abstract class?
