Data Scientist
Got an initial phone call with the recruiter, then a video call with the hiring manager. Got good feedback after that and was given a take home assessment. Finished the assessment but then didn't hear back for about 2 weeks. Finally got a response saying the results weren't good enough for the next step. Not sure what they were looking for since the assignment was a toy problem with no context. I tried to show the DS process, but apparently, they wanted someone to spend a lot of time on a technical skills assessment. They really need to re-evaluate their processes and be more considerate of candidates' time.
- Tell me about typical Data Science questions, such as dealing with class imbalance, ranking systems, and recommendation engines.
Analytics Manager
Applied Online -> Recruiter reached out to me -> Phone Screen 1:1 with Hiring Manager -> Onsite Interview at SF Office (4 round) -> Recruiter reached back to discuss offer. The whole process wrapped up in about 2 weeks and communication was pretty decent throughout. However, it was super disappointing that at the end, they offered me a Senior Analyst role, which is one level below what I applied for. I think this is a really bad way to waste a candidate's time. Company ethics shouldn't be compromised, no matter the process. I immediately declined the offer on the phone because it wasn't what I was looking for or aligned with my career goals!

Marketing Associate
The interview process was straightforward, consisting of several 1:1 phone calls and meetings with team members and upper management. It went smoothly and the employees were very friendly. The entire experience was pretty hasty by recruiting standards; I know many companies can take upwards of 6 months before they let people know their status. Overall a good experience! From initial contact to offer, it took about three to four weeks. It started with a message, then three phone interviews, then an in-person interview, and the offer came several days later.
- Can you share a personal project you're particularly proud of, and explain how the experience gained from it would benefit you in this position?
- Could you tell me about your past accomplishments?
- What are you most proud of?
IT Systems Administrator
The interview process was pretty straightforward and smooth. I first talked about the role with an internal recruiter, and then he set me up for a phone interview with the IT manager. I noticed a big difference between the role that was posted and the questions they asked during the interview. Maybe it was because the recruiter mentioned they were updating the role to be more senior, and hadn't updated the job description yet? A few of the questions during the full phone interview were not related to the role that was posted, which I found a bit strange.
- Can you tell me the 5 main components of Active Directory?
