First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Creative Testing Solutions.
Testing Technologist
The interview was pretty straightforward. They wanted to learn about me and how I operate within a lab setting. It's also a good idea to do some research on the company and the kinds of lab tests they perform. I had my interview with just the supervisor in a meeting room, and they asked over 40 questions. I'm not sure if things have changed since this was 3 years ago.
- If a machine in the lab breaks down, how would you go about troubleshooting it?
Clinical Lab Specialist
I was first contacted by a recruiter for the company and had a quick, successful phone interview. We then set up an in-person interview on site. The interview was really structured and lasted about 2 hours from start to finish. Because of strict security, I had to wait in the lobby for a bit. I met with a floor supervisor for my role and a Manager in the conference room for about an hour. They asked a lot of questions, mostly about personality and work habits to see how I'd fit with the shift and in the lab section. It took a few weeks between waiting for the in-person interview and waiting to hear back about the job. The whole process was okay, but my main complaint is the lack of communication between recruiting and the department I interviewed with. The communication gaps and the long time it took to get a job offer after the interview didn't work out well for me timewise in my job search.
- Can you tell me about your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
- What is your background and experience working in a laboratory?
- How do you manage conflicts with coworkers in a professional environment?
Human Resources Business Partner
I interviewed for the HR Business Partner role and was disappointed with the unprofessionalism of the recruiter. I was looking forward to learning about the role, but instead was met with a condescending tone immediately screening salary needs. She refused to give me the range, which was about $20k less than average in the area for the role. She was very rude and I won’t be applying to this company again. This was a reminder of how a recruiter can negatively impact others and the company reputation.
- What is your salary range?
Clinical Lab Specialist
I applied online through the company's portal. Someone followed up with an email and we set up a phone call for an interview. It was a panel interview where they asked me about quality, speed, and how I work with others and customers. Then they called me for a second interview and tentatively offered me the job, pending the results of a drug screen and background check.
- Between quality and speed, which do you prioritize?
- What is more important, quality or speed?
