The interview process was quite disorganized. I didn't have a first round with HR to sort out logistics like visa, salary, or remote/hybrid options. There was also no clear explanation of what each interview round would cover, whether behavioral or technical. The recruiter also declined a quick call to answer my questions. In the final round, I felt the senior leadership didn't respect my time because they were late and left early. The offer I received was not good; I applied for a full-time position but was offered a 90-day contract at the lower end of their salary range.

Business Analyst
I've never before encountered an interview with such an incompetent employee in my life. I do not believe the person who interviewed me was the person initially scheduled for the interview (at least I hope not). The interviewer obviously did not spend 10 seconds scanning my resume, or was entirely unaware of the industry they were discussing. When I asked about the company, the answers were incredibly vague and just did not make sense given the nature of this startup. When asked about the role, the interviewer was again providing vague non-answers and details that may have been for an entirely different role. I was left with more questions than before. To summarize, I hope the typical interview process isn't this terrible. Honestly, the original interviewer should have rescheduled because I have no faith in the competence of this organization after speaking with the person who interviewed me. I'm still amazed.
- Is your goal to work in industry XYZ?
Accountant
The hiring process was really smooth. I applied on Indeed and they got back to me pretty quickly, within 2 days. Setting up the phone screen was super easy using an online scheduler, letting me grab a 15-minute slot during my lunch. After that short call, they invited me in to meet some team members. The office felt really open, and most of the staff seemed like friendly millennials. It looked like a good place to work. The actual interview wasn't super heavy on technical stuff. It was great to chat with the CEO and get a better sense of the company. He asked a lot of questions to understand me better as a person.
- Can you tell me about the last book you finished reading?
- How would you rate your proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel?
Marketing Coordinator
This was an unexpected interview process, but for someone who has been through many interviews with no success, this company's format was refreshing and informative. I first met with the CEO, who was very smart and direct. Afterward, I met with the Marketing Manager and three other employees. We had a private conversation, which was great for asking candid questions and getting a feel for the company culture. They all highly praised the company but stressed that it's a very demanding work environment, so candidates need to be prepared for that. One manager mentioned that working there 'will make you a better person.' The CEO and managers were primarily looking for intelligence and abstract thinking. I appreciated that they seemed to value personal character over specific skills, which is a relief for a recent graduate who sometimes feels overlooked due to a lack of extensive experience, even for entry-level roles. I left with a positive impression of the company. The office space is a cool, restored warehouse with unique art and open areas. It was the first interview where I didn't feel disadvantaged for not having prior work experience.
