Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Crate and Barrel.
Designer
It was a very easy process with lots of hires. They basically just explained every part of the job and there's a high chance of getting hired after the first interview. They mainly want to see if you're good at sales, and the design part is pretty straightforward. Overall, I'd say the process was quite easy.
- Can you tell me about your previous experiences?
Designer
The interview process at Crate and Barrel might begin with a quick chat, either on the phone or video, where they'll talk about your background and experience in sales and customer service. After that, you might head in for in-person interviews, possibly with the hiring managers.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you went the extra mile to make a customer feel comfortable and happy?
Designer
The interview process was quite straightforward. The interviewer followed a script closely for about an hour, taking notes. They asked what seemed like older-style personality questions and didn't deviate from their script at all. It felt quite rigid and they seemed solely focused on the questions they had prepared, not really relating to the actual job.
- Can you share an instance where a colleague or client felt excluded, and describe what actions you took to foster their inclusion?
- Describe a situation where your integrity was tested.
- Recount an experience where you were given feedback and explain how you reacted to it.
