First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Crafty.
Fulfillment Manager
First there was a phone call, then a group Teams call. After the 2 on 1 interview, they ghosted me. They said the TA would be in contact shortly with next steps. I waited 2 weeks because there was a holiday shortly after my interview. I finally reached out and the TA coordinator assured me she would reach out on Friday of that week, even if it was bad news. Crickets... Never heard back. Wasn't going to reach out and waste my time a 2nd time. The company doesn't seem to have their stuff together, which I could tell even during the interview process. They couldn't answer a lot of basic, straight-forward questions.
- How do you ensure accountability among your team members?

The first recruiting phone interview was pretty laid back but useful. I got to ask everything I wanted before they set up an in-person interview. They didn't push me to decide immediately, which is different from how many recruiters act. The in-person interview was really thorough and lasted about 2 hours. It was challenging, but Crafty seems to be looking for people who not only have the skills but also fit their core values. I liked that Crafty asked the hard questions during the interview so they could hire people who truly align with the company's expectations and values.
- What actions would you take if a colleague was taking an excessive amount of time to complete an order pick?
- How would you respond to a situation where a coworker is not adhering to company protocols?
- Would you choose to work in a team setting? Provide reasoning for your preference.

The interview process spanned about a month. It started with an HR call, followed by a conversation with a senior marketing team member, and then a meeting with my potential manager and a co-founder. I found it a bit unusual for a company of about 200 people to have a co-founder involved in the third round of interviews, especially alongside my direct manager. I'd rather have focused on discussing the role with my future manager than answering the co-founder's self-important questions; he was also quite rude, making it an unpleasant experience. The most frustrating part was the lack of follow-up. Despite investing hours in discussions, the HR representative never provided an answer, even after I reached out. It's probably for the best it didn't work out.
- Can you tell me about a project that you're particularly proud of?
- Could you describe your role within the marketing department?
People Team
Applied and got an interview request really fast. That was the only good thing. Next was a phone call with one of the leaders. Leadership seemed to have an attitude of 'I'm the smartest person in the room.' I knew it wasn't going to be a fit and wasn't surprised when I got turned down. But I was bummed there was no way to ask for feedback because the rejection was from a 'no-reply' email. (I tried and it bounced.) In my opinion, it shows a lack of respect, especially in this market. Good luck to the team though.
