CPI Security Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process has 3 steps. First is a phone interview with HR. Next, you'll have a phone or in-person interview with a manager. Finally, there's an in-person interview with the hiring manager, after which they make a decision. The process moves pretty quickly.

I applied on May 24 and heard back on May 26. Then I had an initial chat with the recruiter on May 31. After that, I had a 45-minute phone chat with the CMO on June 2, and we both felt it was a good fit. On June 9, I went to CPI Headquarters for an in-person interview that lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I met with six Marketing team members and the CMO. They said my experience matched the job and the company vibe. The CMO mentioned I was competing with two other candidates, and in a weird twist, commented on my gender potentially being an advantage, which was unprofessional. I was told a decision would be made within a week, but I never heard back. I followed up twice with the recruiter with no response. The job posting even reappeared briefly before being replaced by another marketing role. It's disappointing to have no follow-up after three interviews. This left me with a bad impression, and I'm glad I dodged a bullet. I don't recommend CPI Security if you want clear communication and respect.

I initially spoke with a recruiter at a university career fair and gave them my resume. They called me to schedule an interview for the next day and sent a confirmation email. The interview itself was pretty laid-back and lasted about an hour. We went over the job duties, the training program details, and the compensation structure (paid training followed by commission-only pay). We also discussed if it would be a good fit for me and if I was interested. They mentioned they were interviewing others throughout the week but would reach out next week with a decision, and training was set to begin the following month.

The interview process was pretty good, they were flexible with video calls because I lived far away. The managers were all really nice and professional. My only problem was with the salary negotiation. I told them what I needed to switch jobs, and they said they'd see if it was possible to get approved, but I never heard back after that. I followed up a few times, and still nothing. I really liked the company after the interviews and was excited about the possibility of joining, but I never got a final answer.
