HR contacted me about 2 weeks after I sent in my resume and cover letter. First, I had to complete a case study involving editing and writing short-form content, plus finding images. Then, there was a second case study focusing on visual design and content editing. After getting good feedback on that, I had an interview with HR. The final step was a relaxed interview with the CEO, and I got a job offer shortly after that.

I had a negative experience with Cozymeal's interview process. After sending in my resume for an open job, I got a super enthusiastic reply saying they wanted to proceed. But instead of an interview, the next step was a big assignment, both visual and written. I did it anyway, submitted it, and followed up a week later. Still no word back, no interview, no rejection. It's not cool to ask for so much work before even talking to someone. It feels like they don't value your time. And not getting back to me after asking for that work is just rude and doesn't say good things about the company.

After applying, I was contacted by someone to schedule an interview with the CEO. This first interview was a video call where the CEO asked about my strategy for selling to a specific city and how I would approach making new accounts. I suspected he was looking for actual selling methods for his own business rather than genuinely assessing my qualifications or industry connections, which felt off. I received an automated rejection email stating my resume would be kept on file, which I find disingenuous. I inquired about other open positions but received no response. My impression is that the CEO is seeking free consulting on sales strategies by interviewing experienced professionals, rather than hiring.

I applied and got contacted by a recruiter within a few days via email, who said they were impressed with my background. The recruiter asked me to complete a 3-question case study within 48 hours of receiving the email. Two big red flags, that I ignored. 1) No screening call, likely meant they're just blasting this email nationally (as I noticed the job post was in every large city in the US) 2) A sudden case study request with a 48 hours due date means no consideration for applicants schedule. I still submitted a detailed response for each question within the requested timeline. I received a confirmation email then....nothing. I followed up and I was completely ignored. At this point I don't even know if they took the time to even look at my submission. MY ADVICE TO THE COMPANY, if you're asking your applicants to take at least a few hours of their day to complete a case study, maybe take 5 mins to let them know that you reviewed it or moved forward with other applicants.
