First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cox Fleet.
Coordinator
I had an in-person interview with two people, and it lasted about 45 minutes. I got a call back in five days. When I arrived on the day of the interview, a receptionist greeted me, and I met with the interviewers after about fifteen minutes.
- Do you have mechanical experience?
Marketing Director
I had a phone screen with a recruiter/HR person first. Then there was an in-person interview with two people, one from HR and the other my potential direct supervisor. That interview went really well. They asked me to do an audit of their website and social media and give recommendations. I did that and sent it over the next day. The recruiter told me I'd hear back soon. A week passed, I followed up and was told I was a top contender and would hear soon. I kept checking in weekly and got the same response. Finally, I was told they wanted to move forward and make an offer. I scheduled a meeting to go in for the offer and was surprised to find out it was actually a second interview, not an offer. During this second interview, I noticed some of my recommendations were already implemented on their website. The following week, I was informed I didn't get the position.
- Perform a social media and web audit, and present your findings and suggestions.
- What suggestions do you have for our website and social media channels?
Corporate Trainer
I got a call from a recruiter, but it was a third-party one who seemed to be just reading from a script and didn't really know the industry. They kept cutting me off and seemed like they were in a big hurry. After that, I never heard back, so I felt like it was a complete waste of my time. It's funny how they ask about my current salary, but then get weird if I ask about the salary range for the job.
- Are you familiar with using PowerPoint?
Billing Specialist
I got the job through a temp agency. I met with a staffing agency in person. Later that week, they called me and told me they had an opening at Dickinson Fleet. They arranged an in-person interview with the HR Director and VP of customer service, along with my future manager. It was a very simple interview, more of a conversation to make sure I had a pulse. I knew not long after beginning the interview I would be getting an offer.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
