Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cox Communications.
Intern
I interviewed for the finance and accounting internship position in internal governance. It was one round, and the interview was entirely behavioral with 3 people from the internal governance team asking questions. Was not nervous at all, they were accommodating!
- Can you provide an example of a time you used your skills to solve a problem?
Intern
First, a recruiter will call to set up the interview. The initial interview was with the team I would be working with, and it lasted for about an hour. Everyone on the team took turns asking their questions. I got a call back about 3-4 days later for a second interview. This one was with the team’s manager and was more about seeing if I’d be a good cultural fit. They asked why I wanted to work there, what led me to choose my major, and what I hoped to gain from the internship. The whole process was pretty straightforward and went well, but unfortunately, the manager decided to go with another candidate.
- Can you tell me about a relationship you've formed and its significance to you?
- Share an instance where you had to examine data.
- How do you go about finding an answer when you're faced with a problem you don't know how to solve?
Internship
The interview process included some basic behavioral questions, and the interviewer was friendly. I heard back in about a week. I had multiple interviews for different roles. For roles that are more technical, be ready to answer technical questions and remember things you learned in previous courses that might be useful for the role.
- Can you tell me about your greatest achievement?
