The interview was pretty smooth. Two initial interviews were held virtually and then an in-office interview with the manager of the department. There were 2 assessments that needed completed after the initial interviews. The first two were relatively brief and the in person was close to an hour and a half.
- Do you have experience working within the banking regulatory environment?
- Tell me about your experience with Fair Lending practices.

So, the interview process was pretty drawn out. First, there was a quick 15-minute chat with the recruiter to go over my resume and talk salary. Then, I had a 45-minute interview with a panel of three people. After that, they gave me a take-home assignment that honestly took me almost 10 hours to complete. The final step was a 1-hour interview with a panel of four where I had to present my take-home project. I'd be cautious if you're considering this role; they might just be wasting your time. It really felt like they saw the interviews as a burden and weren't that engaged with me throughout the whole thing, which made me uncomfortable. But, they were offering a decent salary, so I stuck with it even though my gut told me to stop. I went through the entire process, and then got a generic rejection email with no feedback, even after stringing me along for weeks. I'm pretty disappointed and wish I'd trusted my instincts when it felt like I was just filling a quota. Be careful if things feel weird. I even canceled other applications with them after this experience.
- Tell me about your resume.
- What are your current job duties?
- Can you walk me through a situation from your past where you faced a challenge and how you handled it? (STAR format)
Business Analyst
This was a really quick hiring process. I went through three interviews: first, the standard HR chat, then I spoke with my hiring manager, and finally, I had an interview with the Strategy director, which was the last step. I got the offer within three weeks.
- What are your typical HR questions?
- Do you have strategy-inclined questions?
