Process Chemist
For a Process Chemist role, Covestro in Baytown, TX had a two-step interview process. It started with a phone screening, then an on-site interview with a presentation. The interviewers were professional and the mood was calm. After the on-site, I followed up for about a month. I got one reply saying they were still deciding, and then silence on further emails. The job was re-posted, which felt like they weren't transparent. It's a bummer to put in so much prep and presenting time and then get no communication. I hope they get better at talking to candidates.
- Can you describe a time you experienced a workplace conflict?
Intern
Online interview with HR, then an online interview with the manager, followed by an in-person interview. It was very straightforward. The manager interview involved presenting a free-topic subject, and it was relaxed and open to questions. They presented the company, salaries, and benefits during the first contact, and didn't create unrealistic expectations.
- Do you know Covestro? What is your experience with the field?
- What is your connection to the area?
Process Operator
The interview process starts with a first meeting where you introduce yourself and take a short test. Then, the second meeting includes a technical test with a panel. The third meeting involves a tour, a test, and meeting the team.
- Can you draw a pump curve and explain split range?
- Explain split range after drawing a pump curve.
Process Operator
First, there was an HR screening and a written technical test (it's good to prepare for this, the technical test isn't too difficult). After that, a panel interview with senior management and a technical Q&A round (about pumps, control loops, etc.). Then, an introduction to the team leader and a tour of the facility. Finally, a medical check-up followed by a contract offer.
