First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CoverWallet.
Senior Frontend Engineer
It was very straightforward the whole time. I first got contacted on Linkedin, then I had a formal meeting with HR. In the second interview we had a round of questions about engineering and development, I also had a coding challenge which was really fun because the interviewers were very good colleagues. The third interview was with the CTO and Tech Director, which I didn't get to finalize because I got a job offer from a startup with a lot of potential, so I abandoned the process. However, it was really all very organic in these interviews, I would have continued if I had passed the last interview, no doubt!
- How about software design patterns?
- What do you know about Vanilla Javascript and prototypes?
- Tell me about React lifecycle methods.
Sales Associate
I talked with the co-founders for this role, which was listed as a Junior Associate but in the end was a Junior Sales Associate. We had two interviews, and then I showed up for a scheduled assessment, but the co-founder didn't log in because of other work. So, we rescheduled for the next day. On one assessment, the co-founder seemed disappointed with my answers, but I was told I did really well on the other four or five. The co-founder sent four documents, but I guess I was supposed to know only one was needed. When we met the next day, he asked why I didn't figure that out. He said to treat that assessment like a real transaction, which is intimidating. My experience showed a lack of empathy and a focus on profit. The other department is like a call center with young people on headsets in cubicles. It's disappointing that another call center opened instead of a research job. This company proved to me that I should probably leave this city because it's full of call centers.
- Would you be open to completing some assessments?
Operations Analyst
The interview process had about 3 to 4 rounds. First, there was a round with HR, then a round with two operations analysts. Following that, I was given a business case that required data analysis and a presentation to the managers. It was quite time-consuming, and despite following up, I never heard back from HR about a decision. I was hoping for a formal notice given the significant time investment from everyone involved.

Senior Software Engineer
I had a terrible and disrespectful experience. They took over two weeks to give feedback after each stage, with complete silence in between. Then they called me in a rush saying they were going to make an offer. The next day, they canceled the offer because they actually wanted to do another interview. After another week and a half of silence, they called to say there was no offer. Given how they treat people, I'm very glad I don't work there.
