First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Covenant HealthCare.
Health Unit Coordinator
The interview was very welcoming, and they explained the hiring process well. I met with two managers who explained what my day-to-day would be like and how success is measured. They really emphasized teamwork and collaboration with coworkers.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to deal with a difficult problem?
Surgical Technologist
I applied online and heard back from them within 3 days. The first interview involved watching a hospital video and then waiting. The interviewer was professional and asked typical questions. I've been invited back for a second interview with the O.R. manager, which seems to be the last one. The offered shifts are good, but the pay ($15/hour) is quite low compared to other local hospitals, which is a bit of a concern. However, I'm still considering it because current employees say it's a good place to work.
- Tell me about a mistake you made at a previous job and how you fixed it.
Environmental Services
I applied in person at HR and had two interviews. The first was with the department head, a quick, simple chat asking basic questions about me and my past work. They also asked if I was pursuing a healthcare career, as Covenant likes to hire students in health professions, which is great if you're going into nursing. The second interview was with an HR employment specialist, mostly behavior-based questions, focusing on my work history and teamwork skills, as Covenant is very team-oriented.
- Can you describe a situation where you demonstrated leadership?
- Tell me about a time you collaborated effectively within a team.
- Are you currently pursuing studies related to a healthcare profession?
Registered Nurse
The application process was straightforward and done online in private. I was contacted quickly and had a phone interview. They were flexible with scheduling and the environment felt comfortable. I met with the hiring manager and some of the other staff, and they showed me around the unit. I received an offer within two days, which I accepted. I'm still with the same manager, and our unit really feels like a family.
- What action would you take if you witnessed a colleague stealing narcotics?
