First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Countrywide Financial.
Senior Analyst
Had a face-to-face technical interview focusing on programming skills. Then, there was a telephonic and/or face-to-face interview with the onsite manager. Even though I was selected for the role, they eventually offered me the job after a 6-month period.
- Besides career growth, what are your motivations for seeking a new job?
Intern
I had two phone interviews first, then they did a background check. After that passed and they checked references, I was invited to a 1:1 interview on site that was pretty straight forward.
- Can you tell me about your weaknesses?
- Tell me about your experience with team leading.
Financial Consultant
I interviewed with three different people, one in person and two over the phone. It went pretty smoothly overall, but they did a lot of background checks. They had me do a simulation where I had to sell to someone over the phone to check my skills and competency. Some tough questions, but they were fair. It was one of the more thorough interview processes I've been through.
- Do a 45-minute role-play of selling to a customer over the phone.
Senior Vice President
Got an internal recommendation which led to a phone interview, then an onsite meeting with the hiring manager and their supervisor. The vibe was super friendly, and I felt ready for the questions they threw at me. I made sure to bring along examples of my past work, which they really liked because it really showed I could do the job.
- Can you describe your experience with a 'start-up' division and how you helped establish its structure for growth?
