The interview was a 25-minute phone call with 4 members (2 staff, 2 interns) of the Events team. Although the interviewers were friendly, the panel format felt intimidating. The interview felt scattered, making it hard to follow the speaker and respond to multi-part questions. They asked questions about my experience and a curveball question. They used the silent treatment tactic when I asked questions, and then asked "is that it?". My advice is to come prepared with good questions and don't feel pressured to fill the silence. I interviewed mid-week and was expecting to hear back by the end of the week. After not hearing back, I sent a thank-you email 7 days later. The next day, I got a rejection email. I asked for feedback, but the interviewer was out of office, and I never got a response.

Behavioral Technical

I had a positive interview experience and got a great feel for the company. After applying, I was emailed a couple weeks later. I did have an internal connection who might have helped me get an interview for this highly sought-after position. I met with a panel of three people from the department that same week. The interview felt relaxed yet professional, with some deep questions. We discussed my past work and education, the job's responsibilities, the department's overall function, and specific museum activities. I received feedback the following week, as promised. Although I didn't get the job, they encouraged me to keep in touch and gave me positive feedback on my interview and resumé.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I had three interviews. First was a hour long phone interview with the VP. Second was a three hour in-person interview with the same VP, which I had to fly to Nashville for on short notice (Wednesday interview, asked on Monday), and they didn't cover travel expenses. They said I had the perfect background and no questions about my experience, but asked about relocation timing. Third interview was a hour and a half in-person with the CEO, CMHOF covered flights and accommodations. They called me the 'heir-apparent' and asked about my start and relocation timeline. It felt more like a sign-off, discussing his accomplishments and my ideas rather than my experience. A week later, I got an email saying they went with someone else more qualified. I never talked to HR.
