Behavioral Technical Coding Case

It was a 5 part Interview process. First, a phone screen with the recruiter. Then, a Zoom interview with 2 managers from the location I was applying to, which included both personal and technical questions. Lastly, a Zoom interview with 2 senior employees from the head office.

First, HR sent an email saying there would be 4 rounds, all coding. They conducted 2 Skype rounds, which I figured were technical. Then I was called onsite for interviews. After 2 F2F rounds, I asked HR about the next steps, and she mentioned more technical rounds. They ended up doing 3 more technical rounds, making it 2 Skype and 5 F2F rounds total. After that, they told me to go home for the day, and I was hoping for a good response. A few days later, HR called, starting nicely by asking about my current and expected CTC and notice period. I got excited, thinking it was positive news. Then the real 'game of words' started. The HR, who seemed to think she was very professional because she studied abroad, said my profile was good but they couldn't match my current CTC. I was shocked since I'd shared my salary expectations beforehand. She tried manipulating the conversation so much it irritated me. Instead of just saying straightforwardly that my profile didn't fit their requirements, she kept saying things like they have parity levels, my profile is good, they aren't rejecting me, but I just don't fit. Finally, I just said 'okay' and ignored her. It was really disappointing to get feedback this way. It's way easier for a candidate to accept a direct rejection than to go through all that and then get the same message indirectly.

The interview process was a time waste with a rude HR who seemed to have no idea about the company. I had already completed 3 interviews with the Couchbase panel, which was intellectual. However, the HR, at the last moment, asked me to come for a f2f round in Bengaluru for the next 3 rounds, even though only 2 technical and management rounds had been completed. Then, they scheduled the same rounds again, as f2f, without prior notice, despite me being in Delhi. This was a pathetic demand. When I asked about reimbursement, they initially agreed on the phone to reimburse all expenses, but didn't send any confirmation mail. Their attitude was pathetic, with the HR acting as if they were doing me a favor by mentioning reimbursement in the mail. Overall, a pathetic interview experience due to the HR.
