First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Costco Travel.
UX Designer
I applied online and then heard back from the recruiter about what was next. After that, I had an interview with the Hiring Manager. It was a casual chat, and they asked me behavioral questions. The Hiring Manager started by discussing the role and what they expect.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What motivates your interest in Costco Travel, and why do you believe you'd be a strong candidate?
- Describe your previous work experience.
Accounting Analyst
It was an easy process. They asked basic accounting questions, like debit and credit examples, and also behavioral questions and about myself. It was so easy and they are also friendly. Just prepare for it. Also, the final round with the Director was not that hard and it turned out to be more of like giving you the perception about the culture.
- Can you elaborate on your strengths and weaknesses?
Product Owner
The interview process began with a unique first interview focused on a mutual agreement about the role and potential fit. Following this, two interviews were scheduled: one for culture fit with the team, and another strategic interview with team leads. These were set for consecutive days. However, the so-called 'culture fit' interview turned out to be a technical interview, indicating a significant mismatch in expectations. The team seemed unprepared, not having reviewed my resume, and expecting a developer background. As I was not informed about a technical interview, I was unprepared. I did not attend the final interview as I received another job offer and found the handling of the second interview disrespectful. Honesty about interview types and proper training for interviewers are recommended.
- Can you describe how you would generate API documentation for the engineering team?
O Levels Teacher
The purpose of interview feedback is to provide candidates with valuable insight into their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Positive feedback highlights the candidate's strong points, such as their technical skills, communication abilities, and relevant experience. It acknowledges their positive attributes and accomplishments during the interview.
- What's the point of interview feedback for candidates?
- When giving positive feedback, what strong points of a candidate are usually highlighted, like their skills or experience?
- What kind of positive things and achievements does feedback recognize from the interview?
