First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cosmo5.
Paid Media Manager
First, I had an introductory call with the head of the team. They went over the job details and we talked about my past work experiences and skills. Then, there was a technical interview where I was asked questions related to the field. The final interview was with the managing director, and we discussed the offer details.
- Can you tell me about your previous experiences?
- What is your motivation for joining this agency?
- Could you answer some technical questions relevant to this role?
Human Resources Business Partner
Really bad experience! I went through 4 interviews with CODIR members and HR. The 5th interview, which was with the CEO, got canceled less than an hour before it was supposed to start, and no reasons were given. After that, I never heard back from them, even though she said she or someone would contact me about rescheduling. The first two people I interviewed with also didn't reply to my emails. I found out a couple of months later that someone else got the job. They didn't even bother to send an automated email to let me know they weren't moving forward with my application. Complete ghosting.
- Do you know about the QC law regarding 'francisation' and how it applies to a company?
- What's your approach to organizing a development plan for a particular group of employees?
- Have you had experience working in a multicultural setting?
Director of Business Development
First, there was an HR pre-screening, the person was nice and professional. Then, I had a second round interview with the lead in Montreal. However, they seemed very distracted and uninterested. Their main goal is to expand their Toronto business, but they lack the necessary relationships. Therefore, they are primarily concerned with the contacts you can bring to the table. There was no follow-up from their side after the interview.
- What contacts are you able to bring to help them grow their Toronto business?
Account Manager
I scheduled an interview through the VP of Media. I interviewed with the Account Director and VP of Media. The questions were very specific to what they did and how they managed and strategized media campaigns. After the interview, the VP of Media belittled my SEM experience stating that it was very limited just because I didn't do things for my previous clients the way they did and my previous clients did not have the same goals as theirs. First of all, not only is that very rude, but anyone who works in digital marketing knows you strategize and manage campaigns based on each individual client so just because the clients I worked with had never asked me to do a specific task does not mean I am incapable of doing it or do not have the knowledge to do it. Second, this is an ASSISTANT Account Manager position. You mean to tell me that Labelium does not plan to let people become familiar with the client or do any onboarding when someone starts the role for an ASSISTANT position? Coming from someone who proclaimed she had no SEM experience when she started at Labelium. It is almost laughable. Overall, it was a very demoralizing experience, and I would never want to work for someone so disrespectful.
- Tell me about your strategy experience.
