First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Corvid Technologies.
Cybersecurity Response Team Specialist
After I applied, they emailed me pretty fast. The interview was chill and interactive, felt more like a chat. They asked stuff that helped them get to know me and my personality. It was a comfortable and enlightening chat. They let me know about my status quickly, which was great. It was a really good experience, and it actually made me feel better about my job search even if I don't get this one.
- What professionally motivates you the most?
Analyst
I had a call with their CFO, then we planned an in-person meeting where I was asked to prepare a slideshow. They cancelled the day before the meeting. I kept emailing them to see when they wanted to reschedule, but they kept making excuses and then finally told me they moved to other candidates.
- Can you introduce yourself and discuss your background?
Aerospace Engineer
The interview process started with a phone call from an HR representative, followed by a virtual interview with the technical leads. Then there was an in-person interview that included an engineering presentation. The whole thing took quite a while because I was still in school. It was pretty easy overall.
- Can you present on a challenging problem you resolved?
Senior High-Performance Computing Software Developer
I applied online and heard back for a phone interview about 3-4 weeks after submitting my resume. Two days post-interview, I received an email stating they were moving forward with other candidates due to numerous applications. The company seems to be growing consistently, expanding from 15 employees in 2007 to over 100 now. However, I didn't get a clear picture of their main customers, project sizes, or future vision, nor about career development opportunities. The interviewer was a senior technical employee who requested a lot of material (papers, theses, transcripts, code examples) beforehand and was polite during the 90+ minute interview. I felt the interview was too long, with too many questions about my Master's and PhD studies from 10 years ago and 'keywords' from my resume, and not enough about my recent experience or the provided thesis/papers. It felt like they were just verifying my resume rather than understanding my background. A particularly odd question was about creating fundamental algorithms like mergesort, and the interviewer's silence when I said I didn't know anyone who had. After being rejected for the Senior role, I was contacted about a postdoc position, and I shared my feedback with the interviewer, who explained his methodology.
