Technical Sales Manager
First, I had an initial HR screening. Then, a technical interview with a VP, and after that, I got an offer. It was a pretty simple process from beginning to end. The offer did have some issues though, and it took a while to figure things out.
- Can you share some general details about your background and experience?
Full Stack Engineer
I had an HR phone screen which was a delight. Then a technical phone screen that was engaging and fluid, covering a lot of subjects related to my resume. The onsite had several rounds which were more discussion-based but still technical. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and seems like a great company. I'd encourage developers looking at tech startups in Houston to apply. This feels like a tech company that's into oil and gas, rather than the other way around, which gives it a good vibe. They seem to have strong growth backed by actual numbers, unlike others locally. I declined the offer for personal reasons not related to the company. Salary and benefits were excellent for Houston.
- Highly technical questions about many different parts of the stack.
- Technical trivia.
- Architecture scenarios.
Administrative
First, I had a phone interview with HR. Then, I had an in-person interview with both HR and the General Manager. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them after that. They didn't even bother to reply to my emails or return my phone calls. It really makes me wonder if it's that difficult to send a short email saying 'thanks, but no thanks'. Maybe it's a great place to work, but they definitely need to improve how they manage their recruiting process professionally.
- What was your experience like working for a start-up?
Data Scientist
It was an on-site interview where I met the entire data science team. First, I gave a 40-minute presentation, followed by about 30 minutes of Q&A. The whole thing lasted around 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Could you provide follow-up details regarding your presentation?
- Can you share your greatest accomplishment?
- What contributions do you believe you can make to the team?
