About a month after I applied, the recruiter called me to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. She mentioned there might be up to 3 rounds of interviews for the role. I had a 20 minute phone interview with the hiring manager. At the end, the hiring manager said she'd let candidates know about the second round within a week. After 3 weeks of no news, the recruiter called and scheduled a second interview. This was an in-person panel interview with the hiring manager and two managers/directors from other departments. It lasted about an hour and was manageable. There was a short assessment after. I asked the hiring manager about the timeline for the next round, but she couldn't give one, explaining that the previous timeline wasn't met and there are many things happening outside of hiring. I felt it went well. I followed up with the recruiter 3 weeks later, and she said no decision was made but hoped to have an update the following week. I never heard back and wasn't scheduled for a third interview, so I assume I didn't get the job. I'm rating this experience negatively because the process took way too long and there was no communication about my status. It was a long guessing game.

Applied online, then got a call about two weeks later to confirm interest and schedule an in-person interview. The interview was a panel with a Captain and an admin rep. They asked a lot of hypothetical "what would you do if" questions. They advised to keep answers simple and use common sense, not overthinking it like a real CO. After the interview, they deliberated, and then I was sent for a drug and psychological test/interview. Everyone who passed the initial interview got accepted.

The whole process took about two months from applying to the interview. It's a short interview, around 15 minutes. They do a thorough background check with ICE, plus a drug test and credit check. I met with the chief and HR, and it was a really nice chat. I should hear back within a week or two.

First, you'll fill out an application. Then, check your email in a few days for an assessment. After you complete the assessment, they'll ask to check your background if it's relevant. If everything checks out, you'll be put in a pool. They'll contact you from the pool if they need to interview you. The interview itself will cover a bunch of different questions about your moral character and stuff like that.
