First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Corpus Christi Independent School District.
Cafeteria Worker
The interview is super fast if you go to the job fair. You just fill out an app, wait in line, and they'll ask you a few simple things. They tell you right then if you got the job.
- What's your approach to handling an unhappy customer?
Classroom Teacher
I interviewed at a job fair. The process was pretty straightforward and involved about six questions about my teaching methods, best lessons, handling difficult students, and making learning fun.
- Could you describe your most successful lesson and explain your reasoning?
- Can you elaborate on your teaching methodologies?
- What strategies would you employ to manage a challenging student?
Substitute Teacher
The interview process overall went well and felt relaxing and comfortable. Some of the first questions asked were why I chose to apply to work for CCISD. Questions about how I handled working with children in my past professions came next. Additionally, a scenario based question was asked about how I would handle a child with a behavioral issue in the school setting. Last, I was asked about how frequent I may be able to pick up assignments.
- Can you describe how you would manage a child who is being disrespectful and violent while you're substituting in a department?
- What would you do if a child exhibited a behavioral issue in the school setting?
- How did you approach working with children in your previous jobs?
Special Education Paraprofessional
I applied and then waited a whole year for an interview. The interview itself was pretty tough. After the interview, there's a long wait, like three to four weeks, to find out if you got the job.
- How would you handle a situation where a student gets aggressive in class?
