Sales
I was interviewing for a sales position. I went through three interviews, and I thought they all went well. However, that's where it stopped, I never heard back from them. The big question mark was they just hired a new regional manager. The CRO was new as well. All I can say is that they were very unprofessional, not responding back and it sounds as though they cleaned house, and you keep seeing job openings. I wouldn't bother applying to this company based on my experience. You would be better off spending your time going through an interview with a more professional company. It sounds as though they are having a lot of turn over.
- Can you tell us about your current role and your experience?
Software Engineer
The interview process included a Recruiter chat, a Hiring Manager discussion, and a review of my resume. Then there was a System Design interview, and a final round with a Principal Engineer that focused on technical background and coding. I had a good experience with most interviewers, especially the technical code/system design round. However, the final round was a negative experience. When I didn't know the answer to a DSA question, I said so, expecting the interview to end. But the interviewer smirked and asked, 'You can't code?' That condescending attitude was uncalled for and unprofessional. While companies can have high standards, being demeaning to candidates in a power imbalance might show how the company operates.
- Can you solve the provided problem using Data Structures and Algorithms?
Product Marketing Manager
My interactions with the internal recruiter were a bit strange. I had my first interview quickly and was asked for my availability for more, but then the recruiter went silent for over a week, and my available dates passed. After I sent a few follow-up emails, the next interviews were set up fast. After those were done, there was no communication. The actual interviews themselves were pretty standard, nothing really hard or out of the ordinary to point out.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What were the outcomes of the work you did?
Escalation Engineer
The whole process took 6-8 weeks and was very slow. I initially responded to set up the first interview, and the recruiter took almost two weeks to get back to me. Then, I had an interview with the HR director, the department manager, two people from that department, and a technical interview with about 8 people on a call. After that, I didn't hear anything for 3 weeks, until I received a generic response saying I didn't match the qualifications. I was extremely disappointed because I invested a lot of time and effort into the technical interview and expected the same respect in return, perhaps a quick phone call or feedback. They were advertising an entry-level position, but the expected work and knowledge were definitely junior to intermediate. They should do a better job of properly vetting candidates' technical knowledge upfront, especially if they expect more knowledge for an entry-level position, which doesn't make sense anyway.
- Conversational questions about cultural fit.
