First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at COPS Monitoring.
Manager
They keep it super chill and go into detail. After you're set up for an interview, Flo at the front desk will give you a warm welcome with a smile. They want to see if you can handle talking on the phone and run through some common scenarios, but they do it in a relaxed and friendly way.
- Do you have previous customer service experience, and how do you handle customer issues?
- Describe your approach when dealing with a customer who has a problem.
Dispatcher
The hiring process is pretty straightforward. First, you'll do a personality test (it's not quite perfected). Then, they'll give you a script to read and leave on the manager's voicemail. This shows: 1. You can read. 2. You have a voice that's good for customers. *My best advice is to reread it a few times before leaving the message. There are some weird words you'll want to check. The last step is the actual interview with the manager or supervisors, usually if the manager is running late. I was very open and honest with all my answers, even if they didn't sound the best.

Dispatcher
I applied the same day of my interview in the Scottsdale, AZ office. I read a script to a voicemail and while I waited to hear back on how I did with the script, I took a personality test at the supervisors desk, walked down to the managers office where I was asked multiple questions about why I thought I was perfect for the position. All in all I was offered a position and I accepted with great enthusiasm. The next day I took a quick drug test and signed a few papers and I started on the third day of the process.
- Why should I hire you over all the other applicants on my desk?
Dispatcher
The interviewer inquired about my past work experience. I was also given a typing test and had to read from scripts. After that, I completed background check forms. Just noting that the pay for this job seems very low considering the responsibilities.
- Can you share details about your prior work history?
