Copeland's Restaurants Interview Questions
& Process

It was a simple interview about my experience in the service industry and customer service. The interview was in person. They asked me about my experience as a customer in restaurants. Then they asked about my personal attributes and qualifications. I got an offer within a week.

I came in and asked the current hostess for the manager because I was there for an interview. I waited a long time until the manager finally came and got me. He was very chill and attentive. I felt extremely comfortable talking to him. I then spoke with the general manager, and I barely even talked. He definitely wanted to hire me; he basically explained what I would be doing as a hostess and other stuff. He went on and on about extra stuff, including how the franchise was made.

It was a bit intimidating, they asked a lot about the origins of different scotch and whiskey brands. Mostly, they wanted to know about my past experience in the service industry and my future aspirations with them.

I filled out a long application online. A few days later, I got a call to schedule an interview for the next day. The interview was supposed to be at 11:30, but three other people were also told 11:30. I actually got called in for my first interview a bit after noon. The first interviewer, a kitchen manager, acted like we were just chatting, which made me kinda uncomfortable because I was serious about the job. He even made fun of my professionalism. But, he said he thought I seemed like a great potential hire and told me to wait for a second interview with the assistant general manager. Two of the other three candidates were still waiting for their second interview when I left the first. The second interview went better. He was friendly but also more professional. He asked about my work experience and goals. He did ask some questions about my social life, but they didn't bother me. After about 15 minutes, he said I nailed it and had decided to hire me after just two minutes, but kept interviewing as a formality. He mentioned a third interview with the general manager usually happens the next day, but it wasn't needed for me. He then offered me the job, mentioning about $200 a shift, which was great news.
