We try to make our interview process fast and also complete. First, we usually do an initial interview remotely, maybe over the phone or Zoom. This is just to check your qualifications, talk about your past experiences, and see if you fit the job from a basic perspective. It's easy for everyone. If you pass that, you'll come in for the final interview, which is always in person. This is where we really get to know you, checking how you communicate, if you'd fit in with the team, and if you'd like working here. It's a chat to make sure we're a good match before we decide.

Product Manager
It was a pretty standard interview process with 3 rounds: first HR, then the Hiring Manager, and finally a Team/Panel interview. The HR and Hiring Manager interviews were straightforward and fair. The Team interviews involved speaking with 5 different people and the difficulty varied from easy to hard. They explained the process clearly, though the role itself was new and seemed undefined when I interviewed. One person on the team was meant to be the main trainer and have a lot of influence, but I'm not sure if that was really the case. I didn't get an offer, but it was good practice, especially since I assume I made it to the final stage.
- What about this role and company sparked your interest?
- Could you explain how ___ operates in simple terms, and how you'd leverage that understanding in this position?
- When faced with unresponsive resources and tight deadlines for data collection, what skills or tools do you employ?
Software Engineering Manager
The interview process began with a phone screen, and then I had a one-hour Teams interview with two people. While the screen was pleasant, the actual interview was disappointing. One interviewer was late and seemed unprepared. The other interviewer questioned my resume accomplishments, specifically noting that I didn't achieve them all independently, which made me question their approach to teamwork. They also seemed to be looking for someone with deep AWS cloud services and infrastructure setup knowledge, which felt more like a DevOps role. They ended the interview early because it was clear I wasn't a fit, but they didn't allow me to ask any questions about the company, the role, or potential future work. Although I wasn't at my best, the interviewers' demeanor was off-putting, and I didn't feel welcomed. They rushed to end the call without saying goodbye once they realized I wasn't what they were looking for. This experience left me unimpressed with Copeland's engineering culture, and I won't be applying again or recommending them.
- Can you tell me where your web application is hosted?
Internal Communications Specialist
So I applied online, and then a recruiter reached out for a pre-screen which went really well. After that, I had a call with the new VP of corporate comms, which also seemed to go great. Then, I was set up to talk with the new director of internal comms and another person from the team. We chatted for about an hour, and it felt like a good conversation with a lot of back-and-forth. They seemed to have some solid ideas and covered potential learning curves I might have. But, after ending those talks on a positive note, the company just went completely silent. No one, not the recruiters I'd been talking to, nor the director I'd emailed to thank, got back to me with anything. It's pretty ironic, given the job is all about communications.
- Can you share some standard, basic questions?
- Tell me about your experience with behavioral and situational questions.
- How did you find the mix of questions, and did you like that they didn't strictly use the STAR method?
