First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CoorsTek.
Production Operator
The interview was very professional, and I felt at ease. They had me check some work pieces with a micrometer to test my ability to use them. They also provided a sheet with GD&T symbols and asked me to write down the meaning of each one, whether I knew them or not.

Talent Acquisition Coordinator
I got contacted by the recruiting coordinator for a quick screening call. I moved on to a video interview with the Sr Talent Acquisition Manager. After that, I had an in-person panel interview with the Talent Acquisition Team. Everyone was super nice and made me feel welcome. The questions they asked were really professional and interesting. I felt respected and valued throughout the whole process. It seems like a really collaborative place to work, and I could tell the Talent Acquisition Team works together well to help both candidates and the company.

Chemical Process Engineer
Applied in January for a role focused on scaling a pilot line to production. Received a resume request two weeks later. A phone interview happened about a month and a half after that. The on-site interview, which lasted from around 9 am to 3 pm including lunch, was about a month after the phone interview. The on-site involved an introduction, a panel interview with the team, an HR meeting, a facility tour, and a skills interview. The skills interview heavily emphasized chemical fundamentals, which was challenging for someone who has been in the field and doesn't typically study such things. It felt like the managers were more concerned with candidates recalling equations and calculations than understanding process setup and scaling. During the interview, I questioned the market demand for the product being produced, and it seemed like they were trying to break into the market rather than capitalize on existing demand. My follow-up questions about business strategy and long-term plans suggested a lack of a solid market penetration strategy. We mutually concluded it wasn't a good fit.
- Can you write down the equations for pH and Arrhenius Law?
IT Technician
Interview went pretty well, asked a riddle about light switches and bulbs to demonstrate problem solving skills. Got to the end and asked about compensation/benefits and was told very sternly that it was inappropriate. Ended everything right there. Called the recruiter back and told them there is no way I'd ever work for this company. After reading the reviews of actual workers, probably dodged a bullet. I would personally stay away. This seems like the wrong kind of company....
