First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cookies by Design.
Decorator
The interview process was pretty simple and easy. They wanted me to decorate elaborate cookies every minute, which I found to be unrealistic. It was also really hard on my body. I wouldn't suggest it.
- Tell me about your previous experience.
Cookie Decorator
They asked the normal questions in an interview. The only thing that you need to really be prepared for if the "test". They bring you to the back of the store and ask you to replicate a cookie that was already decorated. Don't beat yourself up if it dosn't look that good, they will put you through about 2-3 weeks of decorating training to help perfect your skills.
- The cookie test was the hardest part, and my nervousness made my hands shaky.
Bakery Associate
It was a really quick interview. The boss did most of the talking, explaining her business and having me expand on some résumé points. She gave me a tour and asked if I had any questions. I also got a free cookie.
- Can you tell me where you reside?
- What's your commute plan to work?
Cookie Decorator
A friend suggested I apply. I interviewed with the Lead Decorator and the Production Manager. I had some experience, but not a lot. I got the job and trained with a decorator for the first few days.
- Did you have any decorating experience?
