President
Applied for the position online and was contacted by HR a few days later to set up a Zoom call. The interview was good and the questions were mainly about my professional background, and how I would approach certain challenges as Convoso. At the end of the conversation, HR said I would be recommended to move forward and would get back to me in a few days regarding next steps. After a week, I reached out to HR asking for a status update. No response. I waited 3 more days and asked again for a status update. This time HR responded saying they would contact the hiring manager and get back to me. Another week goes by with no updates. I reach out to HR once again and do not receive a response. Three days later I sent another email, with no response. The experience was incredibly unprofessional. For an executive-level role, the company should at the very least respond to emails. Ghosting someone at this point shows an absolute lack of respect for candidates.

Software Engineer
First, an HR call to chat about my background, what I expect salary-wise, and where I'd ideally like to work. Then a coding interview, testing my PHP and MySQL skills. After that, a system design interview where I had to design a call center system. Then a behavioral interview covering debugging, documentation, and how I use git. Lastly, a final chat with the VP to talk debugging and then I asked them some questions.
- Can you sort an array using PHP?
- How would you construct a complex MySQL query with multiple tables, group by, and nested selects?
- Tell me about designing the components of a call center system.
Technical Writer
It was a 7 stage interview process with 4 interviews and 2 assessments. First, a recruiter call to discuss hourly rate and job-skill compatibility. Second, a technical interview with hiring managers. Third, writing and personal assessments. Fourth, a culture fit interview with the HR manager and previous hiring managers. Lastly, a conversational intro with the COO. They seemed to really stress work-life balance, which is interesting because the workload seems pretty high. The other technical writer is apparently the busiest person in the company, working across many departments.

Marketing Coordinator
The interview process was super fast and simple. I went through three interview rounds all in about a week and a half, but then got ghosted after the final one. Everyone I talked to was really positive, and I felt like the interviews went well. I waited two weeks with no word, so I emailed them, and still nothing. Another two weeks later, I sent another email just to ask if the job was filled or if they were still hiring. No reply at all. It was really annoying and unprofessional to make me feel like a top candidate and then not even send a quick email saying they weren't interested. HR really needs to improve. It's not hard to at least reply with an email saying they've moved on or if they're still interviewing more people and to hang tight. Keeping in touch and communication between and after interviews is key. Ghosting candidates is super unprofessional.
