First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Converseon.
Data Scientist
I applied online. HR reached out for the first interview. HR was unprofessional and didn't answer my questions. The first round was simple, covering my experience and skills, then basic questions on precision, recall, accuracy, and NLP. I was then emailed to schedule an interview. I gave a date, and she scheduled it. A day later, she rescheduled, citing someone's unavailability. I agreed to a new date, but after that, there was no communication. I emailed her a week later, still no response. Really unprofessional HR.
- Can you walk me through the process of NLP?
Software Engineer
The interview process had two steps. First, there was a technical interview where I was asked about OOP, basic algorithms, and statistics. Then, another interviewer asked me behavioral questions about my experience, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Could you tell me the difference between a list and a tuple?
- Can you explain what a hashmap is?
Research and Translation Contractor
I sent my resume in through a contact. The research director called me, and we talked for about 25 minutes about my background, what the job entails, and my availability to start. It felt a bit rushed but wasn't hard. Later that day, I got a contract by email which I signed. After working as a contractor for a couple of months, I was then hired as a permanent team member.
- Have you done market research before?
Research Analyst
I went through a pretty involved interview process with Converseon, talking to 4 different people one after another. It was a long haul. Some of the interviewers were quite friendly, while others were a bit harder to get along with. All in all, it was an okay interview experience, but what really ticked me off was that they ghosted me after I sent 4 thank-you emails. It was super rude of them to not even bother to let me know if I got the job or not.
