Conventus (CA) Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process was pretty simple. It included a virtual and phone interview with the team and hiring manager. It was mostly behavioral questions, with some general questions about lending and real estate. The team seemed nice and interested in what I've done.

I applied and we set up an interview to go over my book of business and they asked if I have worked in this space before. I told them how long I had been a loan officer and asked about the process and then I was hired

I got the job through LinkedIn and they reached out the same day to set up a quick phone chat. We talked about my background, what I wanted, and the job. Then, I had a 30-minute call with the CFO where we went over my experience and I got to ask about the company. After that, a Product Manager and Product Specialist interviewed me on video for 30 minutes. I shared my history, answered some behavioral questions, and asked my questions. It took about two weeks to hear back about the final interview, but my contact, Anna Chan, was super helpful and kept me posted. The last interview was a 1-hour video call, split between the Director of Operations and the Lead Loan Analyst, each for 30 minutes. I again gave an overview of my experience, faced some behavioral questions, and asked my questions. The day after my fourth interview, I got a great offer. Sadly, I couldn't accept it because I got another offer that fit my career goals better. Overall, Conventus was the best interview experience I've had. Anna Chan was incredibly communicative, always updating me on what was next, and super nice. Everyone was really friendly, smart, and helpful. Turning down their offer was tough because they seem to have an amazing team, are growing fast, doing well in this economy, and have great products for clients.

I had 2 phone interviews last year but never heard back. They reached out again this year. I completed 2 phone interviews and an in-person interview. The interviews went well, but the manager, the last person I met, said, "I won't take much of your time. You have any questions?" I said no and was then shown out. I received a rejection email a few days later. I was surprised they rejected me given my extensive work experience. It felt like a waste of my time. I'm just trying to figure out why they called me in the first place if the initial interviews didn't lead to a callback.
