I had a Zoom interview with two female managers. They presented hourly options, and I got to choose the day and time that suited me best. It was a pleasant and straightforward process. They mainly inquired about my previous work experience in relation to the job requirements, my availability, and my organizational skills, emphasizing a strong preference for customer service. The interviewers were nice.

I was underwhelmed and disappointed. I thought I would speak to a recruiter or someone in HR for an initial call to learn more about the role and get excited about it. Instead, I was invited to take a 2 hour online test. It's surprising they hire anyone when they immediately have an applicant do a long test rather than an initial screen; it sounds backwards and archaic. HR Team, if you want to truly up-level your org with great talent, make some changes to your interview process. If you want to keep an old-school perspective, so be it, but good luck hiring anyone truly great.

The interview process was very straightforward. They asked some clinical scenarios. I was interviewing for an outpatient clinic position, and my prior experience was in long-term care. Sometimes, when asked a clinical question, I'd inadvertently answer from a long-term care perspective. The hiring manager sometimes had to ask follow-up questions to guide me to the right answer for the outpatient setting. They did mention they appreciated that I didn't give up on answering, even if I wasn't initially sure of the correct response.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • How would you manage a disagreement with a colleague?
  • Could you describe a clinical situation and explain your approach to it?
  • Given your long-term care background, how would you address a clinical issue in an outpatient clinic?
