First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ContourGlobal.
Investment Manager
The interview process was pretty straightforward and felt more like a conversation than a rigid structure. It was a good way to see if I'd fit in with the team and to talk about my past experiences. I had a couple of interviews with Managing Directors and VPs. The process didn't seem very sequential.
- Could you describe one of your past deals and explain your specific role in it?
Administrative Assistant
Normal process, call, resume evaluation, talk to HR, manager and then director, then document and lab exam stages. Had the adaptation stage, HR day and everything they offer.
- Tell me about your previous roles and responsibilities.
- What did you do in your past jobs?
IT Systems Administrator
There were four remote interviews via phone and video call with different IT technical leads, followed by a final in-person interview at their offices. This final interview was with the HR director, the director of Spain's energy plants, and then immediately after, with the financial director. The interviews with the technical staff were great, they were very correct, friendly, and well-prepared. However, the in-person interview felt a bit strange, as if they were caught off guard and it wasn't prepared, at least that was my impression for the latter part, because one of them admitted they hadn't even read my CV, which I found disrespectful and a waste of time. The technical staff seemed to have a lot of rapport with me, but it seems this didn't carry over to the final step, as I didn't receive an offer, which is fine if they found a better candidate. What was strange was that the rejection email didn't come from the HR contact I'd been dealing with, but from an HR person in Austria I'd never spoken to. It was a standard copy/paste rejection, and oddly, the subject line mentioned a job I hadn't interviewed for. I then emailed my original contact to check if it was a mistake, asking what happened. I never received a reply, which I find sad because things should be discussed openly without these kinds of taboos, in my opinion.
