First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Consumers Credit Union (Illinois).
Director of Marketing Operations
The interview process had 3 main stages. First, a 1-hour phone screen with HR. Then, a 1-hour video call with the hiring manager. Finally, a 3.5-hour onsite interview, which was broken down into three 1-hour interviews and one half-hour interview. HR was really good with follow-up and communication throughout the whole thing, which was pretty refreshing. The interviewers asked good questions and were really responsive when I had questions. No red flags at all during the entire process.
- How would you handle changes to the current marketing intake process flow?
Specialist
I applied online. Then, after about a week, I had a one-hour screening interview with HR. During the interview, I learned that even though there was a salary range posted for the job, they only had the budget for a salary below the midpoint of that range and couldn't go higher. This became a major focus of the discussion because I was currently making almost twice their maximum budgeted amount. While I was prepared for a significant pay cut, I was expecting to be around the 75th percentile of their range, not the 40th.
- Was I willing to accept the offered salary?
Marketing Specialist
The interview process for this role was quite lengthy, spanning several weeks. I actually had to follow up with them since I had another job offer and hadn't heard back from CCU yet. In the end, I did accept the position at CCU, but not before speaking with 5 different people throughout the process.
- What animal would you be if you were an animal?
Vice President
The interview was quite short for an executive role. They talked about the company generally, but didn't go into many specifics about what I'd actually be doing. The goals they mentioned didn't seem to align with the actual responsibilities after being hired. Benefits and career growth weren't really discussed.
- Can you tell me about a time you managed a big project?
