First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Constructor.

The whole thing took about a month, with one interview a week. It had four stages plus a trial task. First, I did a case study presentation. Then there was a whiteboard exercise. After that, I interviewed with the PM lead and dev lead. The last interview was with the VP of Product. I liked the people I talked to, they were professional and seemed genuinely interested in discussing things. I got to ask my questions and learn about the team and how they work. It was cool that so many people were involved. They were clear about what to expect at the start, but communication totally dropped off before the final interview. I asked about the format for the last interview and never heard back. So, I was surprised when they asked me to present a project I'm proud of and explain why, and I had very little time. The interview itself was only 30 minutes, so no real chance to present myself well, ask questions, or have a good discussion. After all that, I got a generic rejection email with no feedback, which felt really dismissive after investing so much time over the weeks. I asked for more info, and it took three days to get a response. It's super frustrating to go through so many stages over weeks just to get rejected at the end with hardly any communication. From my side, it was a big time and effort commitment that didn't feel valued.

The beginning of the hiring process felt good and organized. The recruiter call and case study interviews were fun and the interviewers seemed truly interested. But the later part of the process was a letdown. I asked about who was who at the start of the whiteboarding session and got clear directions. I went ahead with my plan because there was no prior research data. But at the end, I was told I should have done it differently, which was the opposite of what I was told before. This inconsistency made it hard to show what I can do properly. Also, one interviewer seemed checked out during the whole session and didn't seem to care much. The interview ended about 20 minutes early, with a comment saying there was no point in continuing. Overall, the lack of coordination and professionalism in this part of the process made me question their interview methods.
- Could you share some details about your background and experience?

- What kind of role are you seeking?

This hiring process was great, really organized and clear. The recruiter kept me in the loop and was super professional. Everyone I talked to was nice and kept communication open. I had some really interesting chats. What was cool was that there wasn't one single right answer to the questions, it was more about talking through ideas and experiences, which felt collaborative. The whiteboard interview was fun too, and it wasn't even directly about the product, which let me really show off my problem-solving skills creatively. The most unique part was the trial week though. It was tough but super exciting. I think it's a really respectful way to interview and gives you a real feel for the company, the people, and how things work, so you can decide if it's the right fit.
- What is your approach when faced with highly critical, potentially harsh feedback on your layout?
