Had a Zoom interview with some leads and developers. They asked behavioral and technical conceptual questions. I was asked about my previous work experience and more so on programming concepts. It was a very easy-going interview and everyone was nice and considerate.

The interview process was very light and breezy. The hiring manager was easy going and asked mostly behavioral questions. There were also questions about the company, so research is important. It seemed key to keep the conversation light and be easy to get along with.

I applied online and HR contacted me about 2 months later to schedule an interview with the hiring manager and an employee. The interview took place 5 days after HR reached out. I never got any status updates after the interview. Five weeks later, the status changed to 'considering other candidates.' I emailed HR twice and was ghosted, they never replied. That's a terrible way to treat people and word gets around. It's no wonder the DOE isn't renewing CNS's contract. Fortunately, I found a job elsewhere, so it all worked out. The interview was behavioral, so have examples ready.

I first connected with the company at a college recruitment fair. About a month later, I got an email to set up an interview, which happened over the phone a week after that. Both Pantex and Y-12 were involved, and they took turns asking me questions and answering mine. It was pretty laid back, only 4 questions total, all behavioral, and the interviewers were really nice.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a project team member. What did you do, and what happened in the end?
  • Describe a situation where you avoided taking a shortcut to find an answer, and why that was important.
  • Give an example of a time you did more than what was expected for a job, even when your supervisor wasn't around.
