Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Consilium Staffing.
Sales Consultant
The interview process was very professional, with high-level questions. It was more conversational than expected, which made it relaxing as I was treated like an important candidate.
- Can you elaborate on your previous KPIs and metrics?
- Could you provide details to support the information on your resume?
- Tell me more about your past experiences.
Sales Consultant
Started with an internal recruiter call, like a quick 15-20 min chat about past work. Then had an in-person interview with the same recruiter, basically a longer version of the first chat, asking typical interview stuff like strengths, weaknesses, and some situational questions. Was told I'd hear back fast. The next day, got an email saying they went with other candidates. Weird part is I never even talked to the hiring manager, makes you wonder why they'd set up an interview if they weren't gonna consider me. Feels like the decision wasn't about my skills or experience, but something else. Posting this because I've heard they're a 'faith based' company, which makes me think their faith and integrity might be selective.
- Can you describe your sales experience?
- Tell me about your work history.
- What are your biggest strengths?
Sales Consultant
Got a call from the recruiter almost immediately after applying. She was nice and asked basic resume questions, then invited me in for a formal interview the next day. We went over my resume more deeply, and she talked about the mandatory 44-hour work week and set expectations for the role. The day after that, I had another interview with two managers. The recruiter then came back and said they were ready to make an offer because the managers were impressed and wanted me on board. However, I found out later that there was another approval step. The company ended up going with other candidates because they said I lacked 'leadership skills,' which was surprising given my MBA, C-level sales experience, and mentorship of new hires. Reading reviews suggests I might have avoided a bad situation.
- In what ways have your past account management experiences equipped you for this role?
