First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Conroe Independent School District.
Teacher
I had a zoom interview with the principal and potential team members. It lasted about 20-30 minutes. I was asked questions about my previous teaching experience and why I wanted to work at the school I applied for.
- Can you describe a challenging student you worked with and explain how you assisted them?
Administrative Assistant
I was contacted and an interview time and location was confirmed for several different positions at different campuses. Each time I was interviewed in a professional and timely manner. Staff who conducted interviews asked me standard questions and conveyed what each job would entail in a concise and respectful way.
- How would you handle a complaint or problem with another staff member, student, or situation?
Substitute Teacher
First, submit your application with your college transcripts, background check, and fingerprints. It's a bit of a slow process. Once everything is confirmed, there's a group Zoom orientation where they'll go over the workshops you need to complete by a specific date. These workshops cover safety, CPR, first aid, and what you can and can't do in the classroom or on school grounds.
- Were you qualified?
Biology Teacher
I sent in my application online. A week later, I got a call from the principal to schedule an interview. Then I had a group interview with the principal, an assistant principal, and two teachers from the science department. They told me about the job and the school's vibe. It went for about 30 minutes. To wrap up, the principal let me know when he'd be making a decision.
- Describe how you would begin the first five minutes of your class.
