I had an online interview with the Hr manager for about 30 minutes. Then, the Director of Rooms interviewed me online for 60 minutes. After that, I had a 20-minute online interview with the General Manager. Finally, the HR team did a reference check with 2 of my referees.

This vacancy is for a 3rd in-charge of the department. The HR manager and Housekeeping managers were clear about their expectations. They shared a lot about Hilton systems, policies, and processes, which really reflect the work culture. Hilton truly lives up to its reputation as the #1 best workplace, and the hiring panel discussed many opportunities for development through their diverse training channels. Based on the conversation, it's clear they put considerable effort into staff welfare, as they seemed very willing to provide resources.

Behavioral Presentation

You'll chat with the F&B Manager first, and if they're happy, you'll then meet with the F&B director or the director of operations. If you ace that, the last step is an interview with the HR director. Make sure you have clear answers about your strengths, weaknesses, and times you've really wowed a customer or guest. Dress professionally, business casual or a suit if you can. Nails should be neat and neutral (for ladies), facial hair trimmed, and hair color should be natural-looking. Stay focused and answer questions directly without going off-topic. Be yourself, be sincere, and be friendly. Good luck!

I had a phone interview with the recruiter. I mentioned my pastry experience and training, including training with a French pastry chef, and my desire to be creative and pursue my passion professionally. I got an email confirming an interview for the next day. Three hours later, I got another email canceling the interview because the hotel wanted someone with more experience based on my resume. This was unprofessional and in poor taste. I emailed the recruiter back but never heard from her. I offered to provide a portfolio and references. This was very inconvenient as I had to arrange and pay for a babysitter and cancel my plans for the day.
