It was a typical interview for an academic job, a full day with hardly any breaks. Lots of meetings, and a lot of smiling. We were given a campus tour, which highlighted its beautiful features. The views of the Thames River were really stunning.

Behavioral Presentation

The hiring team was nice and positive, but the process was pretty disorganized. I arrived a bit early to an empty office. I met with different panels, but didn't know who would be there beforehand. The follow-up was strange, including a last-minute request to drive 3 hours to meet the President, then that meeting was cancelled due to her schedule, and I got a curt rejection email weeks later.

The interview process lasted a few rounds. First, I interviewed with the head of the department. Next, I interviewed with members from other departments. Good experience overall. Mainly behavioral questions asked.

The interview was about 30 minutes and was virtual. They asked about my main research paper and my teaching interests. It was a pretty standard academic first round interview.
