Found the role through a colleague who currently works at the company. Initial email exchanges with the HR recruiter took over two weeks. The upside was that once I connected with the hiring manager, the onsite interview was scheduled very quickly. In total, there were two phone calls, five one-on-one meetings, and three lunch sessions. They asked standard questions, including typical HR questions to gauge behavioral traits. There were hardly any technical or role-specific questions. Everyone was pleasant during the process. The downside was that not getting the offer wasn't as disappointing as I'd anticipated. What was truly disappointing, and a clear sign the company isn't a great place to work, is that it's been over a month since my interview in WI, and I still haven't been reimbursed for my hotel expenses. There was some back-and-forth about needing itemized expenses and the hotel folio, but as of now, over six weeks post-interview, no reimbursement. Maybe agreeing to travel to northern WI for an interview suggested I was desperate enough to drive four hours and pay for my own hotel ($85) in the middle of nowhere, only to get a 'no comment' on feedback or reasons for not getting the job. I would expect a higher standard of professionalism and courtesy for this type of position and the people involved in hiring for it. Instead, it's the typical inconsiderate, 'who cares?' attitude directed at applicants. The good thing is, most of us will experience both sides of hiring at some point. In summary, request prepaid travel and hotel before agreeing to travel for an interview.

I got contacted by the company through Monster and they reached out via phone and email to set up a phone interview within 2 days of me applying. The phone interview was 30 min and they went over my resume and asked some basic questions like why I applied and what I liked/disliked about past jobs. They also went over the job duties, training, and pay. They asked if I had questions at the start and end. The same person who scheduled the phone interview called 2 days later to set up an onsite interview. The onsite interview was an hour long with two managers, the one I would report to directly and another manager. One went through my resume and the other asked behavioral questions from a packet, asking for examples from my work history. The last part was a role play: a customer is angry about their bill and feels they've been ignored, how do you handle it? Then they asked if I had any questions. They said I'd hear back in a week either way, but I never did.

The interview process was super chill. First, there's a pre-screening test, but honestly, it felt like it didn't matter at all. My computer even glitched out during it, and the person running it didn't even seem to care. Because they always seem to be hiring, the actual interview felt pretty pointless too. The pre-screening involves listening to different kinds of phone calls and trying to recall the details.

I applied online and then HR reached out asking me to answer some email questions. After that, management called me for a phone interview that lasted 2.5 hours with three people from the marketing team. Then, they flew me out for an in-person interview with the VP and three team members. I had to present my portfolio and answer "describe a time when" questions. I wasn't allowed to tour the facility.
