The interviewers were always polite and available. There were two interviews: one presentation and another technical interview. The interview was very relaxed, although the result was communicated several days later or sometimes not at all.

I was interviewed by a mechanical specialist and an electrical specialist. The first one was a bit hostile, and the second one was very friendly. They asked general technical questions about machining parts, welding, automation, and thermocouple concepts.

Basically, there's no formal interview. What happens is candidates show their research and academic history, and they also present a research plan. Then, a commission looks at each candidate. The whole thing takes about six months.

- It's necessary to find a professor with a PhD who will act as your supervisor throughout the scholarship period.
- Before the grant application is due, each candidate must meet with a potential supervisor to go over the research plan together.
