The interview process was quite smooth, though a bit opaque. You'd only know what the immediate next step was, not what was coming much later. But the interviewers were great and kept things conversational.

Technical Coding

It started with a hiring manager round, and then they gave me an assignment to do in 48 hours. I did the assignment well and submitted it on time, feeling pretty sure I'd get called for interviews. I asked HR for feedback, but they kept saying they hadn't gotten it. After a few follow-ups, they told me they weren't moving forward with me, no explanation given.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you explain JavaScript basics such as promises, closures, and the event loop?
  • There was an assignment focused on data fetching and filtering.

Technical Coding Behavioral

Went through three technical rounds: HackerRank with 2 questions, then a frontend discussion with some live coding, and finally a live coding algorithmic challenge. After that, there was a final stage which was supposed to be 'cultural fit' but wasn't really. I got rejected after passing the technical stages with a generic email. When I asked for feedback, they said they assumed I wasn't technically competent enough during that last interview because the interviewer had a PhD and I'm self-taught. It felt really unfair to be rejected based on an assumption in a 'culture fit' interview after passing all the technical parts. The generic email with no explanation was also disappointing, reflecting poorly on the company.

  • Could you review the user experience and user interface of a website?
  • Can you complete a recursive algorithmic challenge live?
  • What's your reasoning for frequently changing jobs?
