Project Manager
So, I had 3 interviews total. First, a call with HR. Then, a Zoom meeting with the hiring manager to see if I was a good fit culture-wise. The last one was a remote interview with the director from the SF office.
- Can you walk me through your experience and background?
- What is your approach to project management?
- How do you manage your project workflow?
A/V Technician
I applied online and then a rep from HR hit me up. We had a good talk, and she thought I'd be a good culture fit because she really bragged up the company. A second interview was set up with people from the department, which was pretty standard. Then, out of the blue, they said my next interview would be with a Senior VP. That was weird and made me think there might be some micromanaging going on. But, we had a solid interview, and he told me he was taking over the process because my resume caught his eye. He even connected with me on LinkedIn afterward, which I took as a good sign. I followed up with my HR contact to see what was up. They mentioned there might be a better job for me since the company is supposedly growing like crazy. My HR person said they'd talk it over internally and let me know if they found anything. I waited patiently for a response. A month went by, and I reached out again to see if they'd found that other position. I'd also checked out their website and found a tech sales role myself, explaining why I thought it would be a better fit. Yesterday, I got an automated rejection for that role saying it was filled and to check the website for other openings. The whole thing felt like a waste of time and was pretty rude. Honestly, these people seem to have no clue what they're doing. They'll keep you hanging on and say things that don't mean anything. They lack vision and can't recognize real talent. My advice to employers: just be upfront with candidates if they're not moving forward. My advice to job seekers: if you see Conference Technologies, Inc (CTI), get out of there as fast as you can.
- Do you consider yourself more hands-on or more of a strategic thinker?
- What is your ideal pursuit if there were no limitations?
- What are your salary expectations?
Branch Coordinator
An HR Assistant from Saint Louis contacted me to set up an interview for the next day. When I got there, a local employee helped me set up a video call with HR in another location. The interview lasted about 25 minutes and wasn't stressful. The next morning, I got an offer letter by email. The week after, I went to the corporate office in Saint Louis for 4 days of training. The training was good, but we had some AV issues. Most of the departments and people were helpful.
- Could you tell me about your experience?
- How have you used this software before?
AV Engineer
I had an unprofessional interview experience with CTi. The interviews were set up three times, and each time the interviewer didn't show up, without any warning or follow-up. I had to change my schedule many times and got no explanation. This made me think about their internal communication and if they respect people's time. Other candidates or businesses looking to work with CTi might want to consider this when making their decision.
