We had a chat because I already know the company. They asked some good questions. The company seemed really focused on making sure I was a good fit for the job and that I'd be around for a while.

It was a straightforward and brief interview. I had a really pleasant conversation and was told about many opportunities for global travel and various incentives. I was also informed that I would need to relocate to Toronto for a year to be nearer to the main office.

They explained what they were looking for, what they needed, and their objectives for this role. They also talked about the industry and where the company fits in. They inquired about my past experience and what I was seeking in a job. They asked about my personal circumstances and my ability to work autonomously. Finally, they asked if I would consider a temporary role at a lower level while the company transitions its accounting operations from overseas to the local office.

The HR person doing the interview seemed like she hadn't read my resume. The HR person said they would let me know by a certain date whether I would be moving forward to the next round. When I didn't hear anything by that date, I sent a follow up email and received a reply that they would be making a decision within a few days. When I didn't hear anything, I sent another email but didn't receive a reply. I sent a few more follow up emails but never received a reply. It is extremely unprofessional to ghost a candidate after an interview!!!
