& Process

I had a quick 15-minute video call that felt pretty good. After that, they told me to go to a live auction in NYC. When I got there, it seemed like nobody was expecting me, and there wasn't anyone set up to interview me formally. I did chat with the team a bit as they were working. I only met the CEO right at the end, and he mentioned setting up a call to discuss what I could bring, but that call never ended up happening.

This was the longest interview process I've ever been through. All in all it was about six weeks long. I had, in order, a phone interview, an in-person interview (with 3 people), a writing/design assignment, a second in-person interview (with 1 person and then 3-person panel), and a video call interview. I felt very confident and excited about the opportunity. I got nothing but positive feedback from everyone I met with (Except for one person who outright told me I was too inexperienced for the role). The office environment seemed laid back, which was really appealing, and I really thought I connected with the core values of the brand. I was very flexible with them throughout the whole process, rearranging my schedule multiple times to fit in interviews on short notice. I was qualified for every bullet point on the job listing. But, unfortunately, they strung me along, finally giving me a decision date and then waiting until the end of that day to tell me I didn't get the job. Really exhausting and disappointing experience. Looking back, it seems I was probably Plan B all along, but I still think it would've been a good place to work.

Their interview process has likely changed, since it's been a few years since I interviewed. The whole process was really quick. I was told I didn't get the job later, but time passed and they asked if I was still interested in coming on board a month later since the team was growing so much they needed more help.

I really like this company, no complaints. The process is quite lengthy, but if it aligns with your career aspirations, I think it's worthwhile. It's certainly not suited for someone seeking a standard 9-5, which I've never been, so it felt like a great fit. The people and the culture are excellent.
