Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Con Edison.
Co-Op
At Con Edison, the interview process is pretty much focused on behavioral questions. You'll be asked to share examples from your past experiences that show off your skills and what you're capable of. They want to see how you deal with stuff, solve problems, and work with others in a job setting.
- Can you share an instance where you collaborated effectively within a team?
Intern
It was a pretty straightforward interview process. The first round was a phone interview where we talked about my resume and background. The second interview was another phone interview where we discussed behavioral questions. The interviewer was the manager I'd be working under, so the interview process really determines the type of boss you'll get.
- Can you tell me about new Con Edison projects that you find interesting?
Intern
It kicked off with a phone call with an HR person. It was a pretty standard chat where they gave me some details about the intern job I applied for. Then, the hiring manager emailed me to set up an interview at their office. The interview itself was pretty much by the book, like they had a set list of questions and stuck to them, not really letting the conversation go off-script. They had an hour to get through everything on the list. Even with the script, the interview wasn't too tough and followed a logical order.
- What actions would you take if you saw another intern using their work laptop for personal reasons at home?
